X-am 2800/5800 firmware releases

01.07.08

Attention: X-dock firmware 04.00.06 or higher is required to use

the firmware!

New bluetooth firmware 1.12.6:

  • Fix for unsent "Notifications" in the Bluetooth "OpenGATT" interface (3rd party interface) in the firmware of the Bluetooth module. The Bluetooth firmware is automatically installed on the devices as a separate step during the device firmware update (CC-Vision and Gas Detection Connect)

Bluetooth firmware change for warning "175" Bluetooth connection interrupted:

  • In the previous firmware versions, the device signalled a warning "175" when the Bluetooth connection was lost. When previously used with the Dräger Gas Detection Connect app, this also made sense, as the user wanted to be informed when the connection was lost. With the introduction of the Dräger ConHub gateway, however, it is unfavourable or confusing if a warning is shown on the device ("!" in the display) when the user is outside the range of a ConHub. For this reason, the warning has been prioritised down to an info message in the firmware. The message is now signalled by an "i" in the display. If the info is called up (and seen/read) via the info menu (press the OK button 3 times and then scroll through), the "i" is also removed from the display.
  • A connection failure is still signaled by the smartphone (not by the X-am multi-gas detector). The setting options in CC-Vision as to whether the device should respond to the disconnection with an "error" remain unchanged. However, the signalling only takes place locally on the device.

„VOC“ mask for PID gases (CC-Vision function):

  • From CC-Vision 8.1.4, ‘VOC’ can be activated on the display for each PID measurement gas set in CC-Vision. The selected measurement gas with its response factor is used in the background. The function is analogue to the ‘Ex’ display gas for CatEx and Infrared sensors.

Error corrections:

  • General troubleshooting
  • Correction of error that (always) zero days („0 d“) are shown as calibration interval in start-up phase
  • Fix of error that a bumptest in the bumptest station with applied cross test gas ends in blocking alarm of CatEx.

01.06.09

Attention: X-dock firmware 04.00.06 or higher is required to use
the firmware!

 NEW: PID HC neo
  • The data set includes the gas list of the DrägerSensor PID HC (X-am 8000), but without the “user gases” (with freely selectable response factor).
  • The sample gases are selectable via the CC Vision PC software. It is not possible to change the measuring gas via the device menu. (This function is only available in the X-am 8000).
  • The sensor has no age monitoring. The function is monitored (even with aged sensors) using a new algorithm developed by Dräger.
  • The battery life in the device is: 24 hours (with Bluetooth activated and 3 x XXS sensors).
  • The recommended calibration gas is isobutene (ibut).
  • The data set also contains the gas “PID”, which can be used as a “general gas/sum signal” (response factor 1). (There is no gas “VOC”.)

New feature "Motionless Alarm":

  • This function can be activated/deactivated via the CC Vision PC software or via the unit's password protected menu. The default setting is "disabled".
  • An optional pause function can be set in the Quick Menu. When this function is selected in the Quick Menu, a 15-minute countdown starts at the "clock" position in the display menu. At the end of the 15 minutes, the motion alarm is reactivated.
  • If no movement is detected for 20 seconds, a pre-alarm is activated (to be acknowledged by movement or by pressing a button). If no movement is detected for another 10 seconds, the motionless alarm (main alarm) is activated and must be acknowledged by pressing a button. The acoustic pattern is S-O-S (3 x short, 3 x long, 3 x short) to call for help. The times for the alarm are not adjustable at the moment, because no further parameters should be provided for CC Vision, SmartConfig in Dräger GDC, etc. (complexity).
  • The motionless alarm is also transmitted to Dräger Gas Detection Connect via the GDC application, where it is displayed and documented as a motionless alarm.
  • Caution: If this function is active, the automatic shutdown in the charger will not work. The motionless alarm triggers before the charging cradle is detected by the device. Please switch off the device before charging (Dräger recommendation!)
  • The new functions cannot yet be selected via the SAP configurator.

Bug fixing within Firmware 01.06.09

  • General troubleshooting
  • Elimination of the error that X-am 5800 devices with XXS CO H2-CP could occasionally abort the adjustment in X-dock/CC Vision
  • Elimination of the error that deleting the peak values in the Quick Menu rarely failed to work
  • Elimination of error with failing bumptests with cross calibration
  • Improved storage of debug information in the data memory, receipt of debug information even after removing the main battery and/or after firmware update

01.05.04

New features and improvements
  • Support of Dräger ConHub Gateway (automatic Bluetooth connection)
  • Panic Alarm (“SOS”) (manual), incl. GDC connection: Press 3 sec green button to trigger SOS alarm, Press 3 sec again to stop the SOS Panic alarm (Motionless alarm is foreseen for the next firmware update)
  • Show sensor typ in “Info off menu” (2nd page) and on alarm set point pages (start up phase) (Cat = Catalytic sensor, IR = Infrared Sensor, PID = Photoionisationdetector, EC = Electrochemical Sensor)
  • Bluetooth OpenGATT status is visible in the Quick Menu in a new item "Bluetooth Info": If the function is activated, this is displayed.
  • Acoustic signaling of a connection establishment with Bluetooth (single beep) and acoustic signaling of an unintentional interruption of the Bluetooth connection (double beep)
  • Bumptest function is now part of the main menu (password protected) as well, additionally to the Quick menu option
  • Info menu of the X-am pump: the firmware version of the pump is added (only viewable if the X-am pump is connected)

Bug fixing:

  • Elimination of general errors
  • No reaction to an interval (bumptest/calibration), if the reaction is set to "off”
  • The calculation of the pre-warning for an interval has been optimized
  • Blocking alarms are not stored as gas alarms in the data logger
  • No switch off possible in case of a blocking alarm, if the option "No switch off at A2" is activated
  • Bug fixing that a state can occur in which the buttons do not respond to input
  • Improved Debug data storage for error investigation
  • Bug fix of seldom error during calibration with installed XXS CO H2 comp sensor
  • Removed warning for exposure with high Hydrogen concentrations for XXS CO H2 comp sensor.
  • Elimination of an error message when baptising spare part PCBs

01.03.06

Support of the X-am pump (external pump):

  • The function corresponds to the behavior of the well-known X-am 125 series
  • In addition, the clock serves as a count-up in pump mode. This makes it easier for users to estimate the measuring time at a measuring point. The count-up is reset by a flow alarm. (To trigger as flow alarm: Block the pump inlet manually.)
  • The option to switch off the pump via the quick menu is no longer available.
  • The Quick Menu function "Pump Info" is retained.

CatEx SR Sensor:

  • X-am 2800: New option: No blocking alarm for measurement gas "Methane". The function is based on automatic measurement switch function (“full range”) and requires 2calibrations (%LEL range and Vol%).
  • New sensor data set for the CatEx SR sensor with the following extensions: Acetone,LPG, Methane (leak detection, ppm) (ch4L) and Methanol. Details: See separate CatExSR sensor circular letter.

General improvements and firmware stabilization.

  • Option: Permanent muting via CC Vision (e.g. for laboratory measurements/special forces and in service workshops).
  • Bug fixes
  • Stability improvements
  • With a Gas Vision >8.0.0, reading out the data logger directly with GasVision is possible(again).
