Install device firmware updates

This article contains requirements and instructions for installing firmware updates on compatible gas detectors

Device firmware updates are automatically distributed to connected X-docks. When a compatible device is placed in the X-dock and the appropriate setting is configured on the X-dock, firmware updates are automatically installed on the portable gas detectors with the test or calibration.

NOTE: The update is automatically installed when a compatible device with an available firmware update is placed in the X-Dock. The step cannot be skipped if this is set in the test profile.

⚠️ Requirements

  • Connected X-dock - firmware update file download commences automatically
  • Compatible gas detectors
    • Dräger X-am Series
      • X-am 5800
      • X-am 2800
    • Dräger Pac Series
      • Pac 6x00 Series
      • Pac 8x00 Series

      • Note: In future, Dräger will no longer apply for measurement performance certificate (Pac 6500 O2, H2S, CO) or MED approval (Pac 6500 O2). By updating to firmware version 9.20, the corresponding approval expires. However, there is no change in the measurement characteristics and all other approvals remain valid without restriction.

Compatible devices are automatically updated when new firmware is available and the "Update SW" step is selected in a test/calibration.

  • Place compatible device in connected X-dock
  • Run test or calibration with "Update SW" step enabled
  • Update will install with the test/calibration automatically
